LATCU Ltd.’s activities are centered on tobacco business and currently all its members are pre-occupied along that line of business. Available records show that some founder members/societies were involved in other lines of products, like Mwese Coffee Growers Co-operative Society who mainly pursued coffee production, but fell out of the Union

In its operations, the union has also been pursuing other strategies of income generation like renting its properties, distribution of agro-inputs etc., and it has very much succeeded in attaining its goals as Union’s income has increased tremendously.

Mpanda District now becoming an independent Region, to be known as Katavi Region, has enormous economic potential to be pursued by LATCU Ltd. such opportunities are such as paddy/rice production, groundnuts, sunflower, maize, coffee, tourism, mining etc. etc. It is through these available opportunities that present a bright future for LATCU Ltd to be pursued upon.
